NETPark - the North East’s premier science, engineering and technology park
NETPark – the North East’s premier science, engineering and technology park based at Sedgefield, County Durham. NETPark is dedicated to the commercialisation of R&D and accelerates the success of knowledge-based companies by providing:
- top class facilities
- access to finance
- tailored business support
- access to world class research and business opportunities
NETPark is part of the North East research network, a combination of University research centres, spin out businesses, centres of excellence and high tech companies, which ensures an innovative, supportive and self-sustaining knowledge-based community.
Already home to some of the North East’s most advanced technology companies it’s the kind of place where talent flourishes and businesses have the resources to compete with the best in the world. You can work there with the brightest minds in the business of science. And the best brains in the science of business.
The Research Institute houses organisations such as The Centre for Advanced Instrumentation developing innovative hi-tech instrumentation for optical and infrared astronomy. This building is specifically designed for R&D and low volume complex equipment prototyping and manufacture.
The NETPark Incubator is where science and technology businesses can begin to grow. Offering a mix of office and laboratory space in self-contained units, you can take as much or as little space as you need to grow at your own rate, with highly flexible occupancy terms.
The Incubator’s Business Support Centre provides mentoring and support in R&D commercialisation, Intellectual Property, international business development, business planning, market research and manufacturing.
And as your business develops you’ll find no shortage of room to grow and expand on site with the minimum of upheaval.
NETPark is also home to PETEC, an internationally recognised facility for the development and exploitation of direct write technologies and flexible functional materials (FFM), revolutionary technology that independent forecasts predict will be a £30bn industry by 2015.
Virtual NETPark – web based support:
In addition to the state of the art facilities at NETPark we are also assisting businesses via Virtual NETPark – web-based access to support services such as training, advice, financial and technology support.
Virtual NETPark provides workshops and networking events to ensure that businesses throughout the County are able to share knowledge and best practice and are able to link to innovation networks around the world.
By providing this web-based support we can guarantee that businesses succeed and grow whatever their location or size.
